Enjoyable stay with great facilities and location. Serene location with good snorkeling, swimming and food.

Location is excellent. Facilities really good clean farés. Great food and good selection.

What was the highlight of Breakas Beach Resort

Very Good

Breakas is a very comfortable resort with good facilities. The position on its own beach was perfect and good use was made of this setting for meals and entertainment. The fares are very comfortable and appropriate. We looked out onto the well maintained garden. It was good that dining was available over a long period each day. At night there was good variety of entertainment. The staff were very helpful in organising transport and in fixing problems.

The snorkeling was very disappointing though it was no doubt affected by cyclones this year. It was only possible to snorkel at high tide. The meals offered were well cooked and presented but the lunchtime menu only catered for big appetites. Also, the menu had few local dishes and was dominated by Italian cuisine. We had trouble with our hot water which failed on four of the ten days of our visit. It was usually fixed within a reasonable timeframe but perhaps there was some more basic problem.

The staff were very good. The location

We had a baffet one night and the food was to slow coming out when it run out. We had a better experience with the taxis rater than the b busses. The pool needed more sun protection, ie shade.

Lovely relaxing week in the sun, good food and cocktails

The location on the beachfront was excellent. The bungalows were perfect for the location. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice. The range of food choices was good with a bar menu, pizza menu and restaurant menu. Lovely cocktails. We arrived New Year's Eve and there was a good fun party atmosphere. The beach area was always clean and tidy. We were able to stay around the pool and in the bar after checkout, have lunch and wait for our airport transfer in the afternoon.

The bar closing at 9.30pm was disappointing, another hour or two would have been great. Check out was extremely slow, about 40 minutes.

The longer you stay, the harder it is to leave

Breakas delivered exactly what we were looking for: three days of pure relaxation, floating on pool noodles in the infinity pool, watching surfers catching waves on the reef and the village children enjoying their late afternoon swim in the sea. The fact that no under fifteens are allowed contributed to the tranquility. We loved how simple and uncomplicated it is: the tropical fruit breakfasts, fares made of local materials and the lush garden setting.

This wasn't a problem for us at all, but it's worth noting that wifi is only available in the common areas around the restaurant, bar and pool, not in the fares themselves.

Lovely place, but would have preferre room with air con and just visited the resort as a day visitor

it was beautiful resort, the food was great. it is located a fair way from the town, but it has a beautiful beach/view.

Air con would have gone a long way, and something that was included at cheaper places. The bungalows are cute and have a great island feel, but the bathroom floods cause the shower is just in the centre with no walls. Garden was beautiful, but in the end I would have preferred a place with air con, and just gone to breakas for meals

Good

Staff were amazing and very attentive. The pool and beach facilities were excellent. The room was comfortable and had everything you needed. The restaurant was good the chef is great.

- Outdoor shower is a definite security risk we came back one day and the someone had jumped over the wall and got into out room. Stuff had been moved around but luckily anything valuable was in the safe. - Drinks and food were overpriced - Breakfast was very basic and the extras were exspensive - The site is unsecured as it is open to day visitors who can use the pool and facilities, meaning it was hard to get a sun bed or use the pool at times. - As an adult site only resort it's disappointing they let kids in as day visitors. One of they days we were there the pool was completely full of kids playing game and just being kids I suppose. Meaning we didn't use the pool.

Wonderful

Location, staff. $1.5 public bus (pp) from out front of resort to Port Villa town. ’Busses’ are all Toyota hiace and they run every 5 mins. Security/staff helpful.

No wifi other than at reception, no aircon in villas

Highly recommend and can’t wait to be back.

-location -staff -amazing food -has everything you need -easy to get into town -beautiful bungalows

-prices were different then on menus (eggs were 650 on menu but we were charged 850) happy hour prices were also confusing. -I enjoyed not having wifi however the wifi connection is very poor at the main lodge.

Beautiful place to stay

Beautiful clean bungalows right on the beach. Helpful attentive staff. Good value for money.

Breakfast very basic, they need a coffee machine. Location a bit further out of town than we hoped.

Good food, good company, good entertainment, no kids, they have a special staff member that can arrange everything for you, nice cocktails.

Loved the little huts, especially the bathroom. The gardens were amazing

Besides a couple of exceptions, most of the staff were a little unhelpful - we actually felt invisible in the dining room on the first night of our stay.

Good stay at Breakas

Villas are surrounded by very well maintained gardens. Staff were generally very nice and polite. Food at dinner time was good.

Free breakfast was only continental/cold food. Had to pay extra for eggs or anything hot. One of the staff at dinner was adement that we order all food at once and can't order more later if we changed our mind or wanted to order more. Very bizzare and upsurd. The only time we felt uncomfortable during our stay. The voluntary tourist fee of 200 VAT (local currency) per person per night is included in the final bill. Not sure why this is not disclosed on booking.com when making the booking.

Absolutely worth it!!!

Peaceful escape from the rat race and only 5-10mins drive ('B' vans like taxi's but way cheaper at 150VAT!) from the city! Very relaxing, quiet and the staff are exceptional! No 'white box' style rooms here - had a beach bungalow and all great room designs and delivered the authentic island experience! Gardens are excellent to wander through on way back to room or walk along beach to access it. Relaxing to watch locals kite surfing, wind surfing and enjoying the breaks along coast! Good bar! Staff keep resort cclean and even rake the fallen leaves every day!

Surf is best at high tide and remember to take reef shoes - coral beach can be rough on tender feet, but there is a great pool for swimming! Although lunch menu was great, the dinner menu could have less 'Italian' dishes!

An easy and relaxing stay

Well maintained - abundant staff around gardening, raking the sand and cleaning the fares (daily cleaning was thorough although we did not take advantage of this as every couple of days was enough and a daily towel change was available). The restaurant meals were fine. A couple of errors with our meals but nothing to carry on about. Those complaining about the included breakfast of fruits, yogurt, pastries, pancakes and toast could have purchased eggs, bacon, barista coffee etc if they wanted to however I think some people just love a reason to complain. Evening musicians added to the dinner experience with music and cultural dance performances on two occasions.

Lack of consistency across staff in terms of training and service delivery - Barbara and Rosemary both provided excellent service however the majority of staff appeared to be untrained or supported. This meant very long wait times for drinks and/or food at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Such a shame as the staff were such lovely individuals trying their best without any kind of restaurant or bar manager in place to coordinate them.

Fares provided the right experience for a tropical island getaway.

Small things. Would be nice to have tea and coffee facilities in Bar area during the day. A pod machine for coffee at breakfast would be good. Meal prices a bit expensive (compared to Ramada).
